Waxing vs Shaving/Trimming!

A lot of people ask about the benefits of getting a wax. Let me start by saying that the hair on our bodies reminds me of bamboo! When hair is cut in half, like it is when you cut it with a traditional razor or scissors, it is only removed from the surface layer of the skin. This action actually causes a “fight or flight” response in our bodies, causing our hair grow back thicker, stronger, and coarser as a protection mechanism. When removed by waxing, hair is pulled out by the root. Since there is nothing left of the hair, we have eliminated the “fight or flight” response entirely. Now when our hair grows back, our bodies will create brand new hair that is weaker and softer each time.

After you wax, it is recommended to exfoliate 2-3 times a week to maintain proper skincare and to make sure that you hydrate your skin daily. Waxing typically lasts around 3 weeks – just imagine 3 weeks of no hair, no maintenance, and amazingly quick showers!
