What is body waxing?
Body waxing is a hair removal technique that uses warm hard wax to remove hair from the root. It’s a longer-lasting solution compared to shaving, typically keeping skin smooth for 3-5 weeks. We use organic hard wax that is designed specifically for sensitive skin, ensuring a more comfortable experience.
Is body waxing painful?
While waxing can cause some discomfort, it is generally well-tolerated. The pain level varies depending on the area being treated and individual sensitivity. Since we use organic hard wax, it’s specifically formulated for sensitive skin, making the process as gentle as possible. Most clients describe the pain as a quick sting that subsides shortly after the wax is removed.
How long will the results last?
The results of a body wax can last anywhere from 3 to 5 weeks, depending on your hair growth cycle. Regular waxing can also help reduce hair regrowth over time, leaving you with smoother skin for longer periods.
What should I do before my waxing appointment?
To get the best results, we recommend the following before your appointment: Exfoliate the area to remove dead skin cells and prevent ingrown hairs. Avoid shaving or using depilatory creams at least 2-3 weeks prior to your appointment to ensure the hair is long enough for waxing (about 1/4 inch). Avoid using lotions or oils on the day of your appointment, as they can interfere with wax adhesion.
Can I wax if I have sensitive skin?
Yes! We specialize in waxing for sensitive skin and use organic hard wax, which is gentler on the skin compared to traditional soft wax. However, if you have specific skin conditions or concerns, please let us know ahead of time so we can tailor the treatment to your needs.
What should I do after my waxing appointment?
After waxing, it’s important to: Avoid hot showers, saunas, and intense exercise for 24 hours to reduce the risk of irritation. Refrain from sun exposure or tanning for at least 48 hours. Moisturize regularly to keep the skin hydrated and prevent ingrown hairs. Avoid touching the waxed areas with unwashed hands to prevent bacteria from causing irritation.
How often should I get waxed?
For the best results, we recommend waxing every 3-4 weeks. This helps maintain smooth skin and reduces the likelihood of hair regrowth becoming coarse. Everyone’s hair growth is different, so we’ll work with you to determine the best waxing schedule based on your needs.
Can I get waxed during my period?
Yes, you can get waxed during your period, but it’s important to note that your skin may be more sensitive at this time. If you’re concerned, you may want to schedule your appointment for the days when your period is lightest or speak with your esthetician for tips to minimize discomfort.
What should I do if I have sensitive skin or allergies?
If you have any skin conditions or allergies, please inform us before your appointment. We’ll conduct a patch test if necessary and use products specifically suited for your skin type. We strive to make your waxing experience as safe and comfortable as possible.
Can I wax if I’m pregnant?
Yes, you can still get waxed during pregnancy, but some women may experience increased sensitivity to pain due to hormonal changes. If you’re concerned, please consult with your doctor before scheduling your appointment.
What if I have ingrown hairs after waxing?
Ingrown hairs can occur after waxing, but they can be minimized by exfoliating regularly and moisturizing the skin. We can provide guidance on the best aftercare to prevent ingrown hairs and keep your skin smooth. If you do experience an ingrown hair, let us know, and we can offer professional treatments to help.
How should I prepare for a Brazilian wax?
For a Brazilian wax, it’s important to have at least 1/4 inch of hair growth. You should also be aware that the area is more sensitive, but we use organic hard wax, which helps reduce discomfort. During your appointment, we’ll make sure you’re comfortable, and we can offer tips to ease any nerves.
What are the differences between your bikini waxes?
Bikini Line removes the hair outside the natural bikini line. Deep Bikini removes hair further inside the panty line. Full Bikini removes all hair from the front. Brazilian removes all hair from the front and the back.
Do you use disposable tools or sanitize your equipment?
Yes, we prioritize cleanliness and safety. All tools used during your waxing appointment are either disposable or thoroughly sanitized between clients to ensure a hygienic and safe experience.
Why should I avoid using retinol before my waxing appointment?
We recommend avoiding retinol and other similar products (like Retin-A) for at least two weeks prior to your waxing appointment. Retinol can make your skin more sensitive, increase the risk of irritation, and even cause peeling. These factors can lead to a higher chance of bruising or skin damage during waxing. To ensure the best results and protect your skin, it’s important to give your skin time to recover from the effects of retinol before waxing.
